Why is this needed?
The SF-97 (Standard Form 97), also referred to as United States Government Certificate to Obtain a Title to a Vehicle, is a proof of ownership document for military and government vehicles. It allows former government vehicles to be titled by the general public.
Transferor (from) will be a division of the US Government.
Transferee (to) is the auction company
Your SF-97 should be accompanied by an SF-97 Reassignment Form, which is usually from a government auction website like IronPlanet. This form reassigns the SF-97 to the person who purchased from the auction company. There may be multiple reassignment forms if it has been transferred multiple times. We help transfer ownership to your LLC so we can register your vehicle.
Registering a military or government surplus vehicle?
The SF-97 is the ownership document these services are built around. Pick the one that matches your vehicle:
- Montana Military Vehicle Registration → Under 16,000 lbs GVWR. Humvee (HMMWV), M35, M37, M151 MUTT
- Montana Military Vehicle Title Recovery and Registration → Under 16,000 lbs GVWR, and there is no title to transfer
- Montana Heavy Military Truck Registration → 16,000 lbs GVWR or higher. LMTV M1078, MTV M1083, HEMTT, Oshkosh, M915
- Montana Heavy Military Truck Title Recovery and Registration → 16,000 lbs GVWR or higher, and there is no title to transfer
